Role Summary
The Solution Designer owns solution design, requirements clarity, and delivery alignment for client engagements. This role translates client needs into effective, scalable solution architecture and ensures that solutions are understood, adopted, and successfully used through training, walkthroughs, and enablement.
Solution Designers operate at the intersection of client needs, functional design, and technical execution, enabling efficient development while ensuring solutions deliver real business value.

Solution Designers are measured on their ability to drive clarity, efficiency, and adoption:
- Efficiency and productivity in delivery (as defined by Delivery leadership)
- Customer CSAT across owned engagements
- Project timeline adherence through strong design enabling efficient build by Solution Developers
- Adoption readiness, measured through training effectiveness and client confidence
- Reduced scope churn and rework through clear, well-documented requirements
Core Responsibilities
Solution Design & Requirements
- Lead requirements discovery through structured workshops, interviews, and analysis
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable solution designs and build plans for internal developers and clients
- Define functional requirements, assumptions, constraints, and success criteria
- Work with Project Managers or Practice Leads to ensure requirements are appropriately scoped, prioritized, and aligned to outcomes
- Act as the primary owner of design artifacts throughout the engagement lifecycle
Solution Development
- Partner closely with Solution Developers to guide builds toward the intended design
- Provide functional clarification and design decisions during development
- Anticipate downstream implications of design choices, communicate and adjust proactively
- Balance ideal design with client priorities, delivery efficiency, timeline, and platform constraints
Build Reviews & Quality Alignment
- Review builds for alignment to design and UX, efficient and scalable build, and incorporation of best practices
- Validate that implemented solutions meet documented requirements and intent
- Identify misalignments early and work with the team to course-correct
- Support the Practice Lead in maintaining consistency across engagements
Client Adoption & Enablement
- Lead client training sessions, walkthroughs, and enablement activities
- Tailor training content to different user audiences and maturity levels
- Ensure clients understand not just how the solution works, but why it was designed that way
- Build client confidence to independently operate, maintain, and extend the solution
Stakeholder Communication & Facilitation
- Serve as a trusted design partner to client stakeholders
- Clearly communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Facilitate alignment across business, technical, and leadership stakeholders
- Manage design-related risks, questions, and expectations proactively
Process Improvement & Practice Contribution
- Refine delivery processes, templates, accelerators, and documentation based on engagement learnings
- Contribute to reusable design patterns and best practices
- Share lessons learned with peers to improve consistency and quality across the practice
- Support onboarding and enablement of new Solution Designers as needed

Required Qualifications
- Strong requirements discovery and structured problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable solution designs
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Client facilitation, workshop leadership, and training capabilities
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Pigment
- Experience designing solutions for complex enterprise workflows
- Strong documentation skills and experience creating enablement materials
- Experience working in multi-stakeholder, partner-led delivery environments
